Re: looking for wifes dad

Hi Simon

I have found the following hope it helps in some way

They were married in 1958 not 1948 - probably fat finger syndrome, but noted in case you have the wrong year for their marriage.

Frank and Pamela Preece are living at 206 White Road, Edgbaston, Harborne Ward on the 1960 electoral roll with Frank C and Annie E Raybould

Do you have his date of birth? There is a death for Frank Leonard Preece, Wolverhampton, March quarter 1993 date of birth 3 Sept 1926 District no 0771A, Reg no A42A, Ent no 189, DOR 393 for certificate. If this is the correct person then this is possibly his birth record
Births Dec 1926 - Preece Frank L - Mother’s maiden name Woodward Birmingham S. 6d 121

There is another birth in Birmingham. September quarter 1927 for Frank L Preece mmn Preece Birmingham N 6d 570.

Re: looking for wifes dad

There is a marriage between Leonard H Preece and Doris M Woodward Birmingham S 6d 89 December quarter 1929.

1950 electoral roll has Leonard H, Doris M and Frank L living at 121 Esme Road, Sparkhill Ward so it looks like the 1926 birth is correct.

Leonard H and Doris M Preece are still at this address in 1960.

Re: looking for wifes dad

Hi & welcome Simon and Seconding bewdley,s good searching for you,

Yep fat finger slip,,we,ve all done it,, Actual marriage register B,ham Dec 1958 Volume 9c page 270
(If you need to get the Cert)
That certainly looks the right info on your Frank L Preece and further information could possibly be
traced in the intervening years through Electoral Rolls but please be aware most Family History
researchers are not keen on tracing "living folks or recent 1960,s upwards",,preference for -100yrs is usual
Best regards John

Re: looking for wifes dad

Hello again Simon,,a little more info you may find useful in your searching.

www.midlandshistoricaldata.org/ this site has B,ham electoral rolls on a pay-per-view system,
its a good site & not too expensive & you can view 1922,25/27/30/31/35/36/39/40/45/46/47/48
50/51/55 & 1960,,

A trip to B,ham central library and searching of Elec Rolls should give you what you require,
Follow on from "bewdley,s" previously posted info & ask the very helpful staff there,
ps Check up opening times due to present transfer to new building,,& use the Train,,parking is dire,
Good luck John

Re: looking for wifes dad

Following from Johns post about the library, I think all the remaining sessions to access the data are booked now, someone mentioned it on another post and the info will then be inaccessible until late next year I believe.
And welcome to the forum Simon.
Sue
