Was also wondering where the "Pinfold" was situated. I believe it was near Dudley Street. Maybe it's not marked on any maps, would it pre-date any map ? Or perhaps someone of the time described its position.

Just looked at Westley's 1731 map and wonder if this square feature was the Pinfold (see question mark).

Lyn, it was like a pound where stray animals were kept until their owners claimed them, usually after payment. They were in use in medieval times, but don't know how long the Pinfold Street one was in use.
