Mount Pleasant were Georgian houses that lined both sides of Kingston Hill at one time. The black and white image was taken in 1971 and the houses, located next to Mount Pleasant, were demolished shortly afterwards. Mawkesount Pleasant once formed the long drive to Bordesley Hall. The third house along the terrace (from Mount Pleasant) was 155 Coventry Road and in 1894 was owned by the photographer William Hawkes. The redeveloped site is shown in the colour photograph and was mainly used for sheltered housing. Len.

Thank you Lencops. The old picture of Mount Pleasant flats is particularly meaningfull as it shows where my Dad lived as a small child.
Should the pictures have been under another thread?

hi all..i wonder if anyone would be so kind as to try and sharpen up the first 2 pics of villa st that ray has put on in post 20...looks like there are kids on the left of the long shot and i would love to get a better look if possible...

many thanks...

lyn

Ray, the last picture on the opening post will not GE. Is there a location that you can post that will get me there.

thanks mike thats much better...what i am trying to see is..you see on the right hand side...theres theres what i think is a white wall which is laid back..as the vine inn was back off the pavement ive an idea that what appears to be writting on the wall may say the vine....the positon would be about right....
