Do any one have any information or photographs of Phillips and Cross in Upper Sutton Street Aston. My mother Jessie Morris and my aunt Lily Preston worked there. We lived in Gothic Terrace in Clifton Road. My mother used to bring home crusifix cross that was made at Phillips and Cross and other bits of coffin furniture , eg coffin handles. Thank you very much .

There are some photos of Upper Sutton St here. None show Phillips and Cross (Crescent Works ?) unfortunately...

Doe s anyone know if Phillips and cross factory was made up of 3 different house joined together

The factory was at nos 69-75 , but this was just the plot numbers. In the 1950s it certainly was not three houses, though in the 1880s there were 3 houses (and the area behind) on the site of the factory

Maps showing 1950s (shown above by Mike) and 1889, I would think it's impossible to work out how these properties changed over the years and indeed may have been subject to WW2 bomb damage. A photo would solve it and may turn up at some future date as sometimes happens.
