Hello All. Thanks for adding me to this forum. It came about because I have this Planet Works badge on my double decker bus. I'm in Montana, USA. I'm converting it to a 2 floor RV. It's CDX513 1954 AEC Regent III Park Royal. Thanks again!

The name in the plate looks like Percy Lane and Percy Lane Products still exist in Tamworth and they are glazing specialists and their home page has the heading bus products. They may have had to repair the bus at some time, but all Park Royal bodies were surely only dealt with at Acton, unless they has an outside supplier. I am not clever enough to put the web address on here but would say Google Percy Lane and you will get all the details. However Planet Works does not come up in any Google entry. Is it on an old Kellys? Who owned the bus when it was in the green and cream livery?

It was new to Ipswich Corporation Bob.

It's an Ipswich bus. I have no idea how it when it went from Red to Green. I heard it had one refurbishment in the 1970s. I assumed at Planet Works but maybe not. I heard that country singer Charley Pride acquired it for the Heritage Inn here in Great Falls, early 70s. I know he performed in London around that time but Canada is only a few hours away from here.

There is also green and cream paint found in the driver cab and in the stairwell (underneath a brown spray paint).

I believe your bus was painted red, over its original green and cream, is due to it being in the United States. It seems that any British bus, particularly a double deck one, has to be red. London buses are red and it is logical that non British folk associate our buses as being red coloured.
Just my 2c. as they say.

Yes that's what I thought. there's no other building like it on Tyburn road.

I don't think its Tyburn Road Works, having worked there myself I cannot see any real resemblance in the two ....but it may have changed by the time I started there ....I have checked out the Kellys for Percy Lane on the Tyburn Road for the years 1913 and 1940, cannot find any mention of them, I know they are in Tamworth, I am not to sure if at one stage they were located in Coventry, we did have all of our glass from them at one time, but now nothing at all.....

As far as my post and that of Frothblower is concerned neither of us are suggesting this pic is Tyburn Works (BCT).
However, it clearly is Planet Works of Percy Lane. No date is given.
