when i was a kid,living in neachells,of a weekend there was a man who come around,selling penny winkles and cockles.etc,one day he come and my mom said to my dad the man is out side selling penny winkles with glass on.dad said i have never seen winkles with glass on.he knew what she ment,the man wore glasses.Does any one else remember this man and is 3 wheel wicker barrow

Like your dads sense of humour Pete. Can't remember anyone selling pennywinkles from a barrow and never went to a pub with my parents. Dad prefered a tipple indoors. I remember mom buying shell fish of all descriptions from the Bull ring and still remember the smell. Jean.

Pete, I lived in Cato street north and fondly remember the 'Penny Wink' man. I remember using the pin to .....-out the wink - over indulged the once and felt extremely bad.
