Pelican Building Great Hampton Street

took this photo the other day as i thought it amusing....looking at the old pelican on top of the building its looking in a sorry state now...wonder how long it will be there for...lots of redevelopment going on around there now..lyn

A fascinating photograph. I wonder about the origin of the name for the building and what was done there originally.
This is an ancient viewpoint about pelicans although I believe it foes back before the Common Era (AD).

yes alan there was a pelican pub just round the corner i used to work there...no longer a pub but the building is still there
