Past Holidays In Woolacombe

But my video clip is not off utube its one of my own, so how do I get an address to post in that space????

Join utube. Register with user name and password. When registered you'll see a tab "Upload a video" On your own computer bring your video onto your desktop - I find this easiest and easily locatable.
Back on utube once you have click upload a video then it will present you with a browse button. Click this and you'll see all your documents on your pc. Find desktop and look for your video. Click onto this and magically this will appear in the utube bar. At the side of this there will be an upload button. Click and then you'll get the message that your video is uploading. You'll see progress from a bar as it it runs along. After about 5-10 imutes or so you'll get a message that your video has successfully uploaded. It will take a few minutes to process and then hey presto your video is up on utube. Click on it and you'll note the url in the top browser bar. Copy this and paste it into a message on this page. You'll see it's a blue coloured live link. When peple read your message "Hey look at this video!" (example!!) then they will be directed to utube and straight to your video. Anne
 
I know this is not Woolacombe but we were on holiday in woolacombe when we visited Ilfracombe for a dayout thought Oldmohawk may like the view of the theater (cooling Towers on te right)

I like Ilfra but last time I was there it looked slightly run down - probably because I had not got my rose tinted specs on.
You've probably visited the place near Woolacombe in the 2003 pic below - had my first teenage 'no parent' hol there, such a very long time ago. I've posted pics of that old hol in this thread.

We didn't make it this year Keith as we visited Anglesey but my late cousin's daughter is going to sort us a dog friendly cottage for sometime in the spring. Jean.

I will be back down some time in august You are so lucky Ray, did you konw Bing Crosby used to play golf on the Saunton links when he was over in the UK.

I lived in mortehoe from 1979 to 1986.i lived in a bungalow called hillside opposite north morte caravan site the lighthouse road was to the left of our bungalow .we often used to walk to the lighthouse spent a lot of time on rockham beach .grunter beach and barricane beach.after we finished work at the rockham bay hotel. Chichester arms .and kingsley inn......where was aunt beats cottage situated...as i remember ..north morte caravan park was at top of hill past rockham bay hotel .and the lighthouse rd carried on past the caravan park on left .the bungalows i lived in were to the right a private road/cul de sac ..the name rings a bell....

I couldnt resist reading all the comments from far and wide regarding Woolacombe and surrounding beautiful beaches. We moved to this area 10 yearsa ago now from Worcstershire and love it here.We live nearer to Croyde than Woolacombe and family live at Combe Martin. Wonderful golf course at Saunton but difficult ! Have had a fantastic 10 days of lovely weather and still the sun shines; we are very fortunate to be here. Birmingham seems a long way away these days but it has many good memories too. KINS
 
Funny just talking about Woolacombe as a guy at work has just had a holiday there and I went a few years ago. I was telling him about some old railway carriages, he looked at me blankly so we started looking and found it to be the old Mortehoe and Woolacombe railway station, at the time I went there, maybe ten or more years ago, it was known as "Once Upon A Time", never went there but its now gone. I remember going to a museum, which I thought was in Woolacombe but might have been Ilfracombe, where you could hear an old Train Driver telling a tale about a train running away down the steep incline down into Ilfracombe, apparently it was one of the steepest inclines in the country something like 1 in 36, I think the old railway line is now the Tarka Trail or something where people can walk or cycle along the old railway line. We stopped at a camp site over looking Woolacombe and you could walk down to the beach through a little village, can't remember the name but it was a popular spot to stop and have an ice cream in the gate way to the church.
 
Have only been to Woolacombe once had lousy weather and then the clutch burnt out on the car on the way home, so haven't been again lol. My friend at work loves it there though and goes at least twice a year with her dad and family, she is trying to persuade me to try it again. My brother loves North Devon, but I think that's because he got bored of South when he was based in Plymouth!

Hi folks.

I moved to North Devon 6 years don't even go back anymore.

It's a wonderfull place to live but I have to say in the last 10 days weve haD 2 DAYS OF SUN SHINE.

Weather forecast for the bank holiday starting Friday heavy rain and gale force winds.

The last 10days has seen 137 lifeguard rescues at Croyde holiday makers are being caught in rip tides and being taken out to sea, we have very high tides at present.

There is a very interesting Video of old film on the barnstaple to ilfracombe line its issued by Branch line Video.s of84 Himley Green Leighton Buzzard LU7 2QA.

It has film of that run down in Ilfracombe showing you the banking engines that used to run behind, I bought a couple years ago in the preserved signal box at Instow on the Tarka line.
 
This thread keeps reviving old memories. A couple of slide photos from 1972. We went there year after year - a lovely place - such happy times ...

Hi Froth - Nice set of photos - lots of views I remember. The best sand castles and moats I've ever seen at Woolacombe. I had my first holiday without 'grown-ups' at Combe Martin in the 1950's.

me too I was 14 years old when first I was taken to this fantastic part of the world & I never tire of the ever changing sea vista & a beach which as seen 4 generations of our family enjoy all that WOOLACOMBE HAS TO OFFER ;O)
 
If i wished to post part of my home video can someone tell me what I have to enter in the URL space????
Did it after uploading to utube first SEE NEXT POST ;o)
