Parker Hale

Yeah, my Mom seemed to think that there was a massive factory making guns next to the BSA in the war years, but I couldn't find anything. Her Grandad had just finished shift when they were bombed and spent the remaining years of his working life there. Her Mom worked for Parker-Hale for many years so I'm surprised she may have misremembered. Hey Ho!
On a different note, it was slightly sinister having a (deactivated) rifle on the chimney breast in their house. The vibe from them two was tense! No wonder I always liked my other grandparents best :joy:
 
I had the pleasant experience of meeting a Miss Ella Hale back about 1970. She was a friend of my great-aunt Ida Davis, and it was only later I found out that she was one of the Hale family of that connection with the Parker-Hale company.

A delightful gentlewoman.
