Overturned WW2 Tank Outide The Hall Of Memory

Does anybody remember this? News article etc?

My Dad told me this story over and over again

He remembered a WW2 Tank that was being loaded onto a low loader outside the Hall of Memory - and it missed its ramp and ended up on its side. I am sure Dad said some of the people were injured.

Afraid I dont know when this was.

I can remember the story, I believe it had been unloaded and driven up a steep hill (not sure which) under its own steam because the truck carrying it couldn't make it. I'm pretty sure one man watching was killed. E.

Must be some truth in it - Dad had joined up by August 1944.

Maybe somebody else will remember it too.

I'm pretty sure this happened post war Gobby and at the time there had been a mobile hospital operating theatre donated by the Austin motor company which attended.
Maybe I'm mixing two stories/memories though.E.
 
Hi Eric

I spoke to my Uncle Roy today (worked with my Dad for many years) who said he thought my Dad had said it was after the war so its probably the same event. I would love to find out more.
