Ormond street

Can anyone tell me about Ormond street in Birmingham, my grandad lived there at some point , Charles Henry Field son of George Field.

Can someone tell me

1- when he lived there
2- where is the street
3-socially what was the street like.
4- what sort of class of peeps lived there ?

Ormond st was between Summer Lane and New Town Row . It is shown in this 1913 map

so do you know roughly what is there now and when was it demolished and why ?.

My Dad worked at a factory in Ormond st years ago the factory was called Pearce pressings,he drove a lorry doing deliveries all over the place..

it sounds like it was quite an industrial road then.

Alf..was it at st stephens church.....this was at the top of ormond street....

No it was a Chapel of sorts but St Stephens Church was on the main Road Newtown Row & we lived in St Stephens Place almost next to the Church.
