Could be wishful thinking on my part, but are the actual (old) Opposite Lock buildings going to disappear ? I can't quite make it out, but I don't think they're being demolished. Could have got the wrong end of the stick !

hi viv i am not certain either...the demo notice says numbers 52 to 60 are going...trying to find some numbering on this st view

 
52 Gas St use to be a restaurant called "52 Gas St" now the black painted building, it was white, canal side down towards Holliday St.

Played there in the "Early" band (i.e. hardly anyone in there !!) called Poliphony. The Resident band was Andrews, Priddy and Dunn who were excellent. Shirley Kent may have augmented them from time to time. Sign on the outside said something like "No strippers or girlie shows". That was not strictly true !!!
