Could be wishful thinking on my part, but are the actual (old) Opposite Lock buildings going to disappear ? I can't quite make it out, but I don't think they're being demolished. Could have got the wrong end of the stick !

hi viv i am not certain either...the demo notice says numbers 52 to 60 are going...trying to find some numbering on this st view
looking at map below 52 to 60 seems to be the toy factory so maybe its this building that is to be demolished

Played there in the "Early" band (i.e. hardly anyone in there !!) called Poliphony. The Resident band was Andrews, Priddy and Dunn who were excellent. Shirley Kent may have augmented them from time to time. Sign on the outside said something like "No strippers or girlie shows". That was not strictly true !!!
Travelled from North Wales in the early seventies to see the Buddy Rich Band at the Opposite Lock. Up until then I’d always seen him at the Town Hall. Remember watching him from the stairs to his left. They over looked the stage. Am I right? Great view. At one point he was chatting to the audience and thanked the Club for his steak. A voice from the crowd shouts ….”Huh….. wait till you get the bill!” Buddy smiles and shouts back … “Wait till they get mine!” Great memories.
