I wasn't going to try to find "now" photos but think I have found some views;turning to the left from the previous picture we have the edge of St Martins - the spiral steps - loved to run down them and the various entrances to the Bull Ring shops and Market.View attachment 153805
I turned right from St Martins but it is so different it hard to be sure this is correct.View towards Woolworths selection of barrows, traders and all those who had gone " down the market"View attachment 153804
Yes the music shop initially a clothes shop named Chetwyns , then later DrumlandI was too young to go to all night clubs then but I think you're right, it was on that corner of Navigation Street and John Bright Street - the same place as the Pool Club. There used to be a musical instrument shop underneath if I recall correctly.
sadly with great difficulty mauriceNow, can you find a modern City Centre skyline that doesn't incorporate a crane?
Maurice
Was the Pool Club, on the left, in an earlier life a dance studio, the name Laura Dixon comes to mind.Apologies for the pen marks - I am really sure that a few hording will make a difference here. Navigation Street 1980.
So much to look at the car names - authorised Agents, the arched windows, brickwork, the concert posters and a ticket for Kiss at Bingley Hall Stafford - £4.75.

Grocery in 1915. The Indian owners in 1978 apply for licence to sell intoxicating liquor.2 Conway Road from 1974, taken in winter judging by the sign stating salt and sugar in stock - well it looks the same
Large sliced loaf 11 1/2 p and I assume Drive washing powder.View attachment 153868
140 Mansel Road 1973 Basi Brothers, love the width of that car, green shield stamp adverts and the sweet display in the window and the Bournville Cocoa sign over the door. There is a previous sign for groceries and provisions above the window. There is alos some nice brickwork above windows and below eavesView attachment 153871

We have had 99 and 100 but I don't think we had 101.101 Walford Road - 1974 have a nagging doubt I have posted this before I am sure you will tell me.
Note how the guttering comes down to join the main guttering above the windows, sash windows everywhere, old street light. You can just make out lamps above the window on the left

This corner seems to be 169 not 171 but the orientation is right. In the second photo the premises on the left have the number 171 above the door.171 Walford Road 1974, nice old Rover outside, Like the clock above the door and the shape of the corner also the Corona pop advert in the window.View attachment 153870
I had to resort to maps to identify this as it is not the corner of a road just the corner at the end of a block of houses. No longer there.140 Mansel Road 1973 Basi Brothers, love the width of that car, green shield stamp adverts and the sweet display in the window and the Bournville Cocoa sign over the door. Another one which is now a house. Finally 143 Osborne Road 1974, with empty streets. There are Lyons Maid ice cream flags, ornamental brickwork and a Morris Minor of in the distance. There is also a "twirley" washing line I though these were modern invention, is is time passing too quicklyView attachment 15387274
