the next few picture will be an eye opener for Dionysius//88 as they show the peace garden and church and former colonnade from Broad Street, my sheet offers a date of 1988/89 for the move of the Colonnade. First we have St. Thomas's church.

That central gate is about 10-12' high we as kids as much as I hate to admit it used to climb up there .

A different location again now , this is Tenby Street in the Jewellery Quarter and this is the Old air raid shelter Albion Street and Tenby Street not sure of the exact location

now we are in Tenby Street, this building exists however if we assume the wall to the left is the air raid shelter then I am afraid that it doesn't. Note the roof outline which suggests something was there previously but not sure how long ago. I will continue this walk around Tenby Street another day.

Top floor alterations and roof lights are interesting. Was this a workshop?

First up today we continue down Tenby Street and into Albion street, from the lack of vehicles I assume this is a Sunday, all sorts of building styles running down the right hand side .

again I am unsure of the location its in the Tenby street locality but with all the rebuilding that has gone on I am sure it doesn't look like this today.

It doesn't look underground so maybe just small rooms in an old factory?

Somewhere more recognisable is the Old Fire Station Albion Street, off in the distance are a selection of old buildings of various shapes and sizes, all a have different uses but all can still be found today.

I am afraid the last picture in this batch is also hard to place but full of interest, the view to the factory at the back is almost victorian and probably hasn't changed in many years, like the ironwork around the shop front and on the extreme right the curve on the doorway.

Moving somewhere completely different, the next pictures show the redevelopment of Aston Cross, this is Aston Road North , the only bit I recognise is the BRMB sign, which is still known as Radio House.

The First World War Memorial colonnade, which had been built as part of the Hall of Memory to designs by S. N. Cooke and W. N. Twist, in 1925, was relocated here when Centenary Square was laid out 1989. Railings with doves of peace were erected, sculpted by Anuradha Patel.

Sheet 106 to start with tonight - hope you all had a good day at The Bull, some shots for the football fans amongst you (well Villa and Blues anyway)
First is a shot of the Blues ground on 14th May 1995, I assume this was a redevelopment and not due to a local derby!! You can just make out the floodlight right of centre.

Next few pictures are of the Villa Ground Trinity Road side on the same day. Interesting that someone managed to WBA graffiti the wall!

Still outside Villa Park, moved to the left this time and more side on to the stand, I assume this was just after the last home game of the season. Just noticed the man on the top of the rubble pile, very H & S.

Last one and see how there is only the small fence between the ruble and the road, if one of those beams started oving thats not going to stop them.
