Hello, everyone! I'm looking for any information on Edward George Nott (Knott) born in September of 1878/9 in Wolverhampton. His mother was Louisa (1855, Brewood), father George (1849, Albrighton), brothers: John Henry (1873, Wolverhampton), George Arthur (1874, Wolverhampton), James (1875, Wolverhampton), William (1877, Wolverhampton), Charles Henry (1884, Heath Town), Violet (1885, Wolverhampton), Bert (1887, Bristol), Alfred (1888, Bristol) and Clara (1895, Aston Union). John Henry and George Arthur died very young but we (ginger_cat and I) don't know what happened to Edward after the 1891 census that places him in Wednesfield Cottages. Did he die or grow up and have a family?

What I'd really like is for any information anyone has about him. My greatest hope would be to find a descendant of his, as we have found, at least, one or know of, at least, one from every other sibling!

i know you said he should be born wolverhampton but just thought i would post this in case!!

See, this is just it... I don't know! I would think that unless he lied on this census, he would have been born in Wolverhampton because all his brothers were born there including a stillborn brother or sister the year after him. In the 1881 census, he's still living with the family on Lower Stafford St. in Wolverhampton. It's after that the family starts moving around more and more.

Now... when I look back to see if I can find an Edward George Nott or even Edward Nott born in Stourbridge in 1878/9, I can't find anyone. Maybe he did lie about where he was born for some reason... I know his brother, Charles, had little or nothing to do with the rest of the family so maybe its the same for him!

Thanks very much for your input! :)

Ohhhh... wait.... I DID find the Edward George from Stourbridge and it has George A. and Mary Nott as his parents in the 1881 Census. So then it can't be him... Boooooo....

I know there are a few (K)Notts around the Birmingham area... Its very hard to tell without outside input if they're relations or not. (Ha ha) I know of some for sure but if there is a whole other set of cousins and such from Edward's side... well! I'll pass your info on to ginger_cat as she may be able to tell me more on that since she lives in the area, unlike me! :)

Thanks!
