Norma Quibell

Quibell

proper brummie kid
My mother was :

Norma Quibell born 30/03/1920

and I am trying to find information on her time as an A.R.P during WW2.
She lived on Windermere Road in Handsworth so I would presume her area of duty would have been in the Handsworth / Aston district.
Would there be such a thing as a record of A.R.P members and their duties. Perhaps logs of incidents ; surely there are records of civilian organisations in Birmingham during WW2.
Any advice / help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I lived in Handsworth and meet Max Quibell a few times, any relation?

Hi there. Yes, Max is my first cousin. His father was my mother's brother.
We had a mutual friend John Owen, middle name Frederick who was much closer to Max. I live in the US now and have lost track with John. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
