This gentleman is thought to have lived in Birmingham for a while, probably in the 1940s.

A correspondent is trying to find out more about his time in the city. Does the name - an unusual one, fortunately - ring any bells with anyone? Any information would be gratefully received.

There's only 1 entry on the Electoral Rolls. 1957 Nicos Charalambous at 57 Bromsgrove Street. Also listed are Michael and Anna Nicolaou.

The other occupants in 1957 and the only occupants in 1960 were Anna & Michael Nicolaou. Kellys shows in 1957-1960 (and possibly other years) no 57 was a coffee house run by "Micahel Nicholson", which sounds like anglicised version of Nicholaou. Possibly they were related?

Noticing this thread earlier today my initial thoughts were that it is a Greek Cypriot name. A google type search also suggests this and the name also occurs in other parts of Britain.
