I am trying to trace a family in Birmingham with a very common surname, I know the family moved around in the area which does not help. They came from Ireland, I have a marriage cert and names of children which were born in the 1940's but they are proving difficult to trace too :(

I wondered where would the best place to look for an obituary please

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me

There are archived copies of several local papers in the central library, Evening Mail, Despatch, Mercury etc, but only in date order. you would have to wind through all the microfiche sheets and read the BMD and obituary pages, there isn't (as far as I know) an index.

Thank you to the person who sent me a message but I cant message you back ;-(
