Newspaper article.

Keith R

master brummie
I hope I haven't ask anything similar on here.......
A few years ago I traced an ancestors death through a newspaper clipping and I am sure I saved it but I have searched and cant find it on my PC.
I have newspaper access on FMP and looked on here and many other places and the article wont come up.
The mans name was Job Clark 1844-1866 and at the time of his death lived in Alvechurch (think).
He died in an accident in either Alvechurch or Redditch in1866 at work while making sail making needles. Something happened and the raw metal went though his clothing into the stomach and he died shortly afterwards.
I think it was in a Redditch newspaper but I cannot find any mention anywhere now.
He is one of many people that have few records findable.
Thanks.

Wow thank you Mikejee. As i say it doesn't show on Ancestry or FMP but the info on these cutting is are brilliant as it shows date and living in Alvechurch...working around Redditch and the one from Long Crendon confirms where he was born. This man is the likely candidate for being the father of relative Edwin Horn(e) whose mother gave him her maiden name om Birth Cert which came all the way down to Wife's grandmother....they might all be Clarke instead.
Haven't located Job's birth or death cert yet which might help with confirming parenthood....
Thanks again..Will have to save All the cuttings multi times for safety...lol

hi keith jobs burial record is on ancestry..buried in alvechurch on 12th dec 1866

it also says in one of those newspaper reports that job was the son of josiah

I can't find a birth record for Job Clark(e) with mmn Hester or Ester (unlike brother Charles).
I am taking a chance here but based on a relative in my tree who appears on some records as Job but whose name was actually Joseph.
I have found this death record
poss death Joseph clarke.jpg
The age is right and Bromsgrove covers Alvechurch.
It is available as a "digital image" so may be worth risking £3

If I'm wrong then many apologies but I can't find any other death record.

I also don't know why I can't find a birth record.

thanks Janice......yes he seems to be very elusive for Birth and Death......Bromsgrove was a huge district then ......it still is.....and it would have covered Avechurch. Before I started a formal tree (ancestry) I put most stuff on disorganised notes and cannot for the life of me see how I thought Job was a possible father to Edwin Horn(e) other than other people have him as well ( found out after) but with no real proof. Edwin's Mom Mary Ann Horne married another man in 1867 but never owned up to who was Edwin's father, When Edwin married the fathers name is Mary with no profession.
I have tried all variations of Job names but not this one...I will buy it and put it in my ever expanding "wrong cert" folder if not him........I obviously hope that there would be an address ...next of kin etc if it was him.
Thanks again.

here is the 51 keith in case you dont have it..long crendon buckinghamshire

Yes I do have this thanks.....Good news on the cert...it is him but apart from the new name it's not giving me any connections other than the person in attendance at his death who is someone he lodged with in Long Crendon in 1861....think the whole household came to Alvechurch to work and live.

Judging by the numbering on the census and comparing to a later map I think it was an extension of Lion (or Red Lion Street) which is now called Birmingham Road.

The numbering goes from 42 Lion Street to 43 Dog Lane and then continues to 52
The even numbers lookas if they are still there but 43 has gone.

We go up and down past here almost everyday. Never knew it was Dog Lane lol. I did find a Needle Scouring Mill at the back of here in Old Rectory Lane and thought this might be something to do with it.

It is a bit of a guess as the roads don't always have names on earlier maps but the census numbering seems to suggest that site
