Newman Tonks - Newtown

My Dad Dennis Brown worked Newman Tonks for many years Hospital St, Tower St & Bescot he loved the job, wondered if anyone remembered him i did see his friend Dave Jones, Wingy & Tina who were good friends, i've got a photo i'll share on here when locate, great site

I worked with a Dennis Hennessy 75 to 77, we were in the Rubber doors dept

Yes I remember Dennis I started newmans 1963 and Dennis was there

Thanks for reply Roger sadly he passed away in March aged 93 but i loved the his stories from Newmans he retired from Ingersoll R.. in Bescot he sometimes went into Walsall FC on dinner breaks for a quick pint with mates. When he worked in Lower Tower St i worked at the top in Universal Jig / Gauge as a surface grinder, remember going to see him at work in Hospital St also. Dad at age 14 became Job estimator at Cannings done his National service in the RAF at Strubby up in Lincs' so any stories i love to here thank you.

Sorry to hear about Dennis he was a nice chap, Newmans was good place to work had good times there, regards
