We have just released new Probate Records for 1858–1879, expanding access to one of the most useful sources for discovering family connections and personal stories from the Victorian era.
This latest collection contains over 790,000 probate records and nearly 850,000 individuals, including executors, offering researchers a rich route to confirm identities, uncover relatives, and understand how families managed property, money and possessions after death.
Probate material from this period can reveal far more than a name and a date. With our search tools, you can:
    • Locate probate entries for ancestors and their close associates
    • Identify executors who are often family members and lead to new lines of enquiry
    • Discover collateral relatives who may not appear clearly in other documents
Searches return both the probate record details and the associated named individuals, giving researchers multiple ways to find the right person, even when names are common.
