New Birmingham Books

I wonder if folks think it would be helpful to have a thread called New Birmingham Books where members can post details of new Birmingham books? Not just books? Perhaps pamphlets etc.? Could bring to a wider audience?

Here's two I recently came across:

1. Wordsworth [Diane]: The Life of Richard Cadbury [2025 reprint]

One of the two sons of John Cadbury who really put Cadbury on the map. A socialist, philanthropist and [of course!] a chocolatier.

2. Yelton [Michael]: Bishop Barnes and the Anglo-Catholics in Birmingham 1924-53. [2026].

Interesting but rather sad to read about Barnes bigotry/intolerance of clergy committed to serving mainly poor areas of Brum . Also notes on the churches concerned many of which I didn't know about. Family ancestors were very involved in Holy Trinity [Bordesley}, St Agathas [Sparkbrook] and St Barnabus [Balsall Heath] - hence our interest.

Thanks, I think a good idea.

Bishop Barnes deserves a thread of his own, but as you say sad to read about Barnes bigotry/intolerance of clergy committed to serving mainly poor areas of Brum. Could lead to a lively thread.
