The Royal Regiment Of Fusiliers Memorial Dedicated today 20th October 2013, myself unable to be there, pics from later this afternoon. the memorial only completed last friday.

finally got there on the 8th, saw my 2 pals killed in Aden in 1965, no Aden memorial somehow the "Aden Veterans", don't think it is worth a site at the National Arboretum, I was told rather "sniffily", that the site is private (British Legion), and nothing to do with the government, except the central site part. I then asked do Disabled Military Veteran war Pensioners have to pay £3.00 to park, and was told that everyone has to. I have really nothing more to say. Paul

I got the same impression at NMA, afraid the RBL are a law unto themselves, they manage the site and what they say goes.Disabled never used to pay when it first opened a few years ago.I took Naomi, my granddaughter there last time I went, she was very interested in all the different memorials.Hope you are keeping well Paul, cheers Bernard.

Sticking my head above the parapet,(again), I have to say, my only visit to NMA, a few years ago, was not a happy one.
I saw the name on the memorial that I went to see but don't feel impelled to rush there again any time soon.
I never realised that the Legion were getting "heavy". If that is the case then they should be ashamed of themselves.
(I AM a member. I will still be selling poppies this year).

I too am a member, and will buy my poppy with pride, my son a serving Para, said something to me that really saddened me when I told him what had happened, "I very am sorry dad, he said, but we don't look on the BL as you do, we modern soldiers think of them more as a big company or business". sad paul.
