Nat West Tower

Thanks Ell. Hope they've put that set of doors in your post #20 somewhere safe. These things have a habit of disappearing. Good to know the new plans include that set of doors. Viv.

According to Wikipedia, it seems the doors (designed by Henry Haig) are made of cast aluminium and painted to look like bronze. The abstract triangle pattern on the doors is based on the NatWest logo.i must admit on first seeing these I really thought they were bronze. Viv.

I'm a big fan of modern buildings but that is bloody awful! I'm glad to see the old one going but that thing has nothing going for it. I've seen better greenhouses. Rant over.

Not a big fan the buildings going up in place of the old library either. that area would have been a lot nicer left as a grassed over public area.

Possibly the last time the building will be visible from the Discovery Terrace at the Library of Birmingham

Didn't know that, been with that bank ever since it was formed from the 'National', 'Westminster' and a third bank whose name escapes me. Eric
