Hi all I'm a new to this, so not sure if I'm on the right thread for this, but I'm asking if anyone remembers the gentleman who ran the hotdog stand by the Nags Head pub between Monument Street and Icknield port road. If my memory serves me correctly it would have been between 1962 - 1965. He would of been there in the evenings if I remember right.
I would be grateful for any info from anyone who remembered him

yes frank
i myself used to run the hot dog stand out side the naggs head during that period for the guy whom was my yonger brothers mate
the guy whom made the carts he made four one for himself and the other three was run by my two other brothers and myself
i was out side the naggs ; my brother was at resovoir rd outde the tower ballroom ; and m other brother used to stand out side spring hill bullpitts
oppersite the libary ; and we charged one shilling and six pence ;
he made them him self from tea chest and aluminuim tops and a cake tray for the rooof and a little bowl for washing your hands and a little heater for boiling
the onions and the heating of the sausages ; he made a very good killing n those days
he bought the buns for a penny each from wimbush on green lane and the catureing tins of sausages next to nothink
up untill the last time of trading my brother was stoped by a health and saftey officier for the city and inspected the cart and was ordered to take them out of action emediatiely or be fined so the guy stopped and then before you know the hot dogs merchants came with up to date carts passed by the health and certificated
and then they swamped the city ; but dave lived at the terrace at the bottom of ickneild square ;with his parents
a good money spinner whilst it lasted ; best wishes astonian ;;
