Hi Lyn,Firstly the shape of the roof,then if it was taken on Lichfield Rd you would see the railway bridge and finally there isn't a road directly opposite The Swanpool.

In that case the pub would be the bulls Head, later the city Tavern, and the street beside it Tennant St. that is different from the picture below, taken in 1901, unless there was a lot of rebuilding

I,m a little confused with this one the Bulls Head was one of my stopping off points before going to the Tower Ballrooom so i knew it quite well. would i be right in saying that the Radio and Television shop was in Tennent St (looking down from Islington Row) i cannot see it being anywhere else in relation to the pub. Dek
It is the Swan & Mitre (Ex Swan Pool Tavern) at the corner of Litchfield Rd and Holborn Hill, Right next to the railway viaduct. It was one of the 'then & now' locations I posted some months ago.
