Music shops

Tuppenny Rice

Tibbatts, Birch, Bennett, Ballinger, Jeffcott, Jef
Inspired by the thread from @Vivienne14 on Riley's Pianos, I recently took these photos as I cleared a family home and was going through all the sheet music. Amazing how many music shops there were (my relatives always lived in Small Heath and therefore shopped there and in town. There must have been way more - please add your contributions.

I did search for any previous threads but didn't see any, please add a link if I have missed one.

Yes it's interesting how many Birmingham music shops there have been over time. A nice collection of music memorabilia.

A bit more info about Taylor and Hocking (New Street and Snow Hill). The business seems to have failed/gone out of business in the 1890s but re-emerged by the 1920s trading from Market Hall.Screenshot_20260324_074211_Chrome.jpg
