munn joseph

Does anyone know of or has any information on Joseph Munn of (i think) Sherborne Road, Balsall Heath. He would have died in about the mid 1940,s. He was my maternal granddad who died before i was born. I think that he was a herbalist. Any info would be most welcome. Thanks.

the name munn rings a bell with me i do not think its a common name ; but rings to me as munns a small photograhic films developer
whom collect peoples films from there camera there bussiness called munns kodac film developers
they had a small van and went around to most chemist in brum and collected peoples filmes and took them back to there premises
to develope them and return the films back to the chemist a friend of mine many years ago got a job driving the small van they provided
they had a very small premise down ickneild port rd ladywood next to the crown picture house for years
and some time during the 70 moved to another place which as just slipped my mind
it willcome back to me shortly but thinking that in the early years in brum and being an herbalist connecting to chemist work ;
i wonder if there is the slightest chance they are your ancesters may be if you get a christian name of the company owners name may just well tally up ; one never knows best wishes astonian ;;

There is no Joseph munn listed in the electoral rolls on Sherborne road. Thr nearest (in distance) is Joseph William Munn, who lived at 17 eversley Road with Jennie Munn from 1922 -1945. He & Jennie had disappeared from the list by 1947. In 1918 & 1919 he was on the absent voters list at 21 eversley Road as 035865 Pte, AOC.
