This gentleman is portrayed in the centre of the oldest known team photograph with the Birmingham Cup in 1880. He looks to be around 60
years of age. Has anybody got more census details? All responses would be gratefully received WAK

William Medlicott Ellis born 1820 of the Willows,Perry Barr,died 13th august 1982.
He was educated at Old King Edwards Grammar he was a politician who twice contested the seat of Mr Chamberlain who only won by a small majority.
He was churchwarden of St Pauls and later Handsworth Parish.
He was Commissioner for Peace in birmingham
Magistrate in Handsworth
President of Aston Villa Football Club.

household and occupants in those far distant days. Your efforts project an image of life in the Victorian period. It would seem he had a keen interest in
educational matters and exercised an important role in the local community.
In your considered opinion would 'The Willows' address be the same existing
premises identified as a care home nowadays addressed as 1 Park Road, Hockley, Birmingham B18 5JH ? In conclusion, could there be any relationship to the 'Deadly Doug' living today! Link up soon WAK
