Mr & Mrs Clamp

Avis Clamp, as the card would suggest, was born on 2nd Feb 1930 to Frederick Clamp and Maud nee Wigley. Sadly she passed in 2003, but she had married later in 1951 to Howard F Johnson, and they had a daughter, also Avis, in 1952 who may still be alive, and MAY have married an Irwin Davis. 18 Holyhead Road was the family home at the time, and there are connections to Kidderminster and Worcester after the date of this event.

FWIW, in the late 1960's I was friendly with a Graham Clamp, who lived with his widowed mother in a cul-de-sac off Shady Lane, Kingstanding. Clamp is not what I'd call a fairly common name, so perhaps there is some connection with the Clamps discussed above.

I can add a bit more to Lloyd's post in that Avis M. Johnson, born in 1st Qtr 1952 seems to have married a Benjamin H.R. AUDAIN, an even rarer name, but neither appear to have died or been the subject of probate in recent years. Perhaps they've moved abroad, or else ticked the box on the Electoral Roll form that prevents councils selling your information to outfits like 192.com. Avis would be 67 if still alive today.

In 2004 Benjamin and Avis Audain were listed in Angelina Street Birmingham. Although the birth date for Avis is 1948 - 1950 not 1952.

Janice,

I've passed some info to Postie on how to contact her. I wouldn't put it on open forum, of course.

That is good news. I only posted the Angelina Street info as it was 15 years ago. Looks like a case of BHF detectives do it again :)
