Hi
Has anyone access to a map which might show where the above address was? It is listed in the 1841 Census between households 224 New Town Row and 230 New Town Row. The census ref is HO107/113/14 B'ham St George. There are 2 households listed as No 1 Mr Goodhead's Yard and likewise No 2. No 224 is occupied by Sarah Goodhead aged 60, no Mr Goodhead at home then. My direct Goodhead ancestor Thomas was living in Hanley Street at the time.
In 1858 (according to a Trade Directory) a Thomas Goodhead (I think son of the above Thomas, my great x2 great uncle), a butcher, was living at 224 Aston Road - would this be the same place or just coincidence?
I think that maybe Sarah's husband was a William Goodhead born approx 1781, she was nee Taft, and they were married on 6 April 1801 at Birmingham St Martin.
I have not found any connection between William and Thomas the elder, although if they are the same place there must be!
I hope someone out there might know something which could help.
Many thanks.
