Moseley Elizabeth

Your quite right Robert Thomas I think was my grandfather or great great grandfather they were I believe first cousins. He was born in Dublin his father was serving there at the time, and lived at 27 Haughton Rd.
Thanks for the info. I really must get into my family tree!

Robert Thomas was your grandfather I think, the father of Geoffery Ernest - your father?

Which would possibly mean that Maud and Emily were step aunts, if George and Kate did marry, as well as more obscure relations if Robert & George were cousins.

Ok, it's become a little clearer, the 1939 Register did me.

Kate and George were siblings and obvious shouldn't have been listed as married. So, some of the above is wrong.

Maud and Emily were indeed your spinster great aunts as you knew anyway, sisters of Kate.

Kate's father and George Robert's (Maud & Emily's brother) were both called Joseph, who were both sons of 2 more (different) Josephs.

Robert Thomas's (Kate's husband) father was also called Robert and he was born in Bham and was a soldier and the son of another Robert.

I think George, Maud & Emily's father may have been a soldier.
They were in the King's Fusiliers one served in the Boar uprising and also India I have there medals and service records.
This is very interesting wish my sister Margaret was still with us shenew a lot more

Apologies if you already know this. Robert had 2 children whilst in India and he died there in 1876. His widow, Emily, returned to England, re-married the interestingly named John Shepherd Saffhill and had another son.

Robert's eldest son and the one born in India both appear to have also been a soldiers and I think the eldest married his step sister. Emily's son with John Saffhill was a soldier as well I think.

I shall look into my records to see if I can confirm this.
Thank you so much.
