Missing spouse on freeBMD in 1904...help needed please

skylark

Proud to be a Brummie !!
Hello folks, I have found a marriage for EMILY ELZABETH CARTER on FreeBMD Dec Qtr 1904 Kings Norton. Very sadly for me I cannot find out WHO she married....(The other couple mentioned were actually married to each other) but there is no spouse named for poor old Emily. so I cannot even start to look for her on the 1911 census. Any help will be much appreciated.

Regards, Margaret.

Oooh Er ! I already know it isn't the Emery chap so hopefully I can now look for the Mowbray's on the 1911...will let you know if I find them. Many thanks Colin for this info...

I have not had any luck finding this couple on the 1911 at all.....perhaps someone with more skill than me can possibly locate them???? Her parents were in Balsall Heath on the 1911.

Have found a Betty Mowbray born in 1916 with the mothers maiden name being Carter, But they live in West Brom.....Could this be them????????/

Hi Margaret,

I'll just fill you in on Frederick Mowbray - if you are using an online transcription of the BMD (i.e. FreeBMD) etc, then Frederick's appearance on it was initially erroneous (he is my g.g. grandfather). He married a Florence Milboro James in 1904 in Kings Norton. I did submit the correct page number to the FreeBMD guys but I can't remember when - in any case the index has been corrected. Instead of Frederick Mowbray you should now find a GEORGE HENRY Mowbray. Hopefully, this is the guy you are looking for!

Hope I've helped.

Regards,

Chris Catling
