Miniature & narrow gauge railways

Echills Wood Railway

the High Speed Rail route and a children’s miniature steam railway, both championed by pop tycoon Pete Waterman, are on a collision course.:worried:
Echills Wood Railway, where young passengers are thrilled at reaching the 7mph top speed, stands in the way of the 200mph-plus “bullet trains”.
Former Pop Idol judge Waterman is an honorary member of the attraction at Kingsbury Water Park, north Warwickshire, and opened its two tiny stations.
But the locos, run by enthusiasts, will be stopped in their tracks at the ‘Sandy Curve’ section under the plans for the HS2 route which bisect the park.:(

As we have drifted outside Birmingham can I bring the following to peoples attention
www.statfold.com just the other side of Tamworth
From their website: An idyllic narrow-gauge steam railway and museum provide the backdrop for weddings, parties, conferences and special events. Not forgetting the rail enthusiasts for whom we continue our restoration work, open our sheds for and share the love of narrow-gauge stock.
- heard lots about it but never been but as we seem to be like minded people thought I would share. :)
Statfold Country Park was featured in a "Bargain Hunt" programme that I watched last week. 3 miles of track and it certainly did look well worth a visit.
