This lantern slide is labelled as a “Court in Mill Lane”. It also has a label as shown below. But is it Mill Lane Digbeth ? Can we identify the buildings in the background ? Possibly c1890. Viv.
No chapels or sunday schools marked on the c1889 map, though that does not rule it out. Cannot see a Birmingham photographer marking something mill lane if not in birmingham
well i never...pedros photo must show my rellies chippy to the right of broadbents at no 50 fred checketts...dad used to take his mates there for free chips and left over scratchings and that photo dated 1938 would have been when dad was walking from hockley to the shop..
