Middleton Mary Sir Josiah Mason Orphanage

bigmama60

proper brummie kid
I have a relative named Mary Lizzie Middleton b 1873 who was admitted to the orphanage prior to 1881, when she was on the Census, and I believe discharged aged 14. Can anyone help me get hold of the details as I had them once but have been ill since and lost lots of info.
Can someone tell me where she may have gone from there too? As well as any admission and discharge records as mine were lost on a dead hard drive?

Many Thanks
Jan

Re: Sir Josiah Mason Orphanage

Hello Big Mama. Having seen your thread it sparked some interest so I Googled it. It came back to this site with 11 pages of letters and rememberences of previous occupants. It also had contact details of someone who may able to help you with Mary Lizzie Middleton.

Some harrowing tales have been recounted in these pages and my heart and admiration has gone out to those who endured the bad times at such an early start in life.

God Bless each and every child who entered this institution.

Regards, Graham.
