The attached I’d Marshall and Snelgrove of New St, I assume it is circa 1940’s based on Santa and the barrage ballon .

Great image! Suspect that it is 1939 or 1940 (unless the balloon is misleading us). They weren't there at Christmas 1941......

It’s really pretty there in the summer, albeit somewhat short! We lived in western NY for one winter, we saw -47 and snow almost every day from November to April.
