Martin Family

Journeyman Brummie
I was wondering if anyone can look on the Electoral Roll please.
I am trying to find out where Joseph Martin was living in Birmingham he was living with Elizabeth Bennett.Between 1905 and 1913 three children
were born,Ann,Jane and Mary.I found Mary`s Birth in 1913 but can`t find Ann and Jane.
I know he was a Boatman at one time, maybe that is why i can`t find them.
Joseph and Elizabeth married in 1918 and were living in Charles Henry St.
Joseph came from Ireland, but i don`t know when.
If anyone can look on the Electoral Roll after 1905 i would be very grateful.
Thankyou
Carol

Sorry i forgot to say i have looked on the 1911 census in Charles Henry St.but i can`t find Joseph or Elizabeth Martin living there.

Hello Carol,

Regarding your quest for info 1905-1913
Females were not able to vote until 1918, and had to be over the age of 30 years.
Therefore Elizabeth / Lizzie may not be on earlier registers .

Voting age was lowered to 21 years in 1928.

The children would have to be over the age of 21 years to be vote so would not appear on the Electoral Register of years you asked for.

If some of the other children were old enough to be married they could be living with spouses.

Birth Certificates of Children will give there home address.
The Surname Martin is difficult to trace without Certificates, so many born around same time, same place, same names.

If asking for help on Electoral Register giving ages would be a great help.

1911 Census have you tried searching by name rather than address ?
