I am Man, hunter, gatherer, guarding my tribe, a warrior, a tall fearless rider
Not a man to my family but a God held in awe, their protector, I’m Man the provider
And I’ll go forth tomorrow and hunt up some dinner, provided my back isn’t aching
Then after I’ll drink and carouse with my friends, provided I’ve finished the baking
Soon I’ll get up the ladder and clean out the gutter, provided my knees have improved
Then I might take the tribe for a trip into town, provided my bowels have moved
Then I must trim the bushes and creosote the shed, provided it doesn’t slip out of my head
But right now I must take the dog out for a run, provided I can drag myself out of this bed
Yes I’m Man, hunter, gatherer, guardian and god, to my family, provider of life
And I go where I want and do what I please, provided it’s OK with the wife
