Man on the moon pub.

Hi, my aunt and uncle Mary & Albert Plumpton managed this pub in the 1960s. They changed the name from man in the moon to man on the moon at the time of the first ”moon landing”. That was quite a spectacular occasion. Does anyone have any memories from around this time? I’d love to see some pictures ( I emailed the brewery but sadly there was nothing forthcoming. Best wishes
I remember Maria Plumpton.

Living in West Heath, this was my Dad's local. I spent many hours playing in the large garden at the rear, while Mom and Dad enjoyed a pint or two. The pub had an active fishing club, and we travelled to venues on the Severn, Avon, etc., about once a month, on a hired coach. I remember, there were always crates of beer, helping to slake the thirsts.
When older, I used to drink there, and play darts. Dad was a keen player in the "Moon" team.
It was quite an event when they changed the name, I recall.

Steve.
