Agree it's Wheeleys Lane, but the first bit is odd. Looks like "5 Malo". A wild guess but could Malo mean "incline" and so near (or part of) Wheeleys Hill ? This would today be a Birmingham B15 address. Hopefully someone can enlighten us ! Viv.
On the 1891 map there is a court listed on Wheeleys Lane as Malannoff Place. A little trouble with accents, colloquialism, or a bit of laziness and it could possibly be this I suppose,
Thank you all for your answers. This site is so useful, I would never have guessed about Malakoff Place or found it on a map. He did marry Ellen Cook later and Lucy died young.
