Lucas Sports Annual Event

Hi , as children, living in Streetly, back in the 1960s we would look forward to our Aunty April taking us to Lucas Sports, every summer , a massive annual event held at the Lucas Sports Ground for all of Lucas Employees to take part in and enjoy, it was near the Boars Head , on the way to Birmingham. We would catch the Green Harper Brothers Bus to Kingstanding where our Aunt lived, and catch the Birmingham Bus at The Circle. We had some great times there, as it seems everybody did.

I too vaguely remember the Lucas Sports Annual Event. I have a feeling a couple of the other main factories had an Annual Sports Event, I think GEC did too.
