Central library informs:

Lozells Congregational church was bombed in 1942 so they combined with St George Heath field Road for a few years.

In 1973 they merged with Aston Park Congregational Church to become South Aston United Reform Church. Central library have been unable to obtain records from them.

Thus my only information from pre 1900’s to 1970 is from the church newsletter ‘The Messenger’ of which not all editions are there and a few archive odds. I have 3 pictures from the Archives.

So if you have any info or photo of Lozells Congregational please contact me.

Thanks

Post the pictures Ray they all add to the History of the site:)

Alf, I got the photos, well took a photo of them, from Central Library Archives so don’t feel I’m allowed to, however I will check next time I’m up there, normally on a Wednesday.

Be assured if do I come across any information that I can post I will be only be too pleased to do so.

lyn, unsure if it was like that due to bomb or part way through being demolished

looking at age of the cars ray i would guess this was during demolision as i dont think they would have left it like that for years...
