Lost Birmingham artefacts statues gates monuments

Over the years artefacts of all types go 'missing'; either stolen, removed to an unknown location or have simply disappeared. This is often the result of projects to redevelop places and buildings and the movement of artefacts to other locations. Sadly, sometimes they may have been destroyed.

Please use this thread to record missing, historical artefacts and items, and to report any that have been spotted.

Where are these items now?

* the old clock face and ironwork removed from Smithfield Market
* the terracotta roundels of birds and animals from the old Market Hall
* the granite imperial measuring stones from Chamberlain Place
* statue of a cloaked man surrounded by a horn of flowers and with reclining female companion
