The design of this building was always a surprise to me given it’s location. I can’t find any information about it ie who was the architect and when completed? google picture is 2022. Is this as the original building looked.

Was this originally Barclays Bank.

If it was, then it did not look exactly like this when it was first built circa 1970.

Structurely it was the same, apart from a huge glass frontage (all one pane of glass) and the upper level wasn't blue.

William.

According to 1972/73 Kelly's it was then a Barclay's Bank
A long time before that I think it may have been Carlton Motors

Where was Lloyd's bank? I remember the Municipal Bank on corner Victoria Street & Bordesley Green.
I opened a savings account there after I started work and saved to buy my first car, Austin A40 Countryman.
Nice car

I have just Googled and found that the Municipal Bank is now Bordesley Green Islamic Centre.
Same building on the outside.
