Hi,

I'm looking for anyone who might have a connection to Thomas Bereford Llewellyn b. 1874 in Ludlow but died 1907 in Claremont Street, Smethwick. He was sent over to Canada in 1883 as a British Home Child by the Middlemore Home when aged 8 years. I've looked for details of parents death but as yet have found nothing definate. The family home was Warwick St in Duddeston and woul dlove to know what the area was like in 1883. So far I have found out that there was a gas works there, so am I right in assuming that this is an industrial area?

Thanks for any help, Paula

Paula put "Gosta Green "into the search box theres plenty on Duddeston i lived in that area in 50-60s cannot recall Warwick St.Dek

The only warwick street i can see then or now is between alcester St and warner st , southe of Deritend. I wouldn't call that duddeston

Paula just noticed a Warwick St Aston on the "Brealey Court House "thread maybe relevant. Dek

I think that, before aston merged with birmingham, Warwick St , off Alcester st would probably have been part of Aston. Certainly deritend, including high st bordesley was included in aston.
