Liverpool Street, Digbeth, Birmingham

I have many ancestors who used to live & work in Liverpool Street which is in the Digbeth area of Birmingham ~ most of my family seem to have worked in a brass manufactory making brass bedsteads & I believe that the factory was possibly named Wilkes & Mapplebeck.
I would like very much to learn more about where my ancestors lived in Liverpool Street from the 1800’s through to the 1900’s so if anyone knows of any information & stories about the street I would be most interested to hear from you please. Also, should anyone know of any pictures of Liverpool Street I would be very grateful please.
Thank you.

Both a Mr Wilkes and Mr Mapplebeck are reported as exhibiting their animals at local dog shows in the 1890s, but whether they are the same gents as the factory owners I don't know.

The southern end of Liverpool Street is dominated by the 1936 bus garage, which probably replaced the former Lanchester motor car factory and a brass metal works - possibly one of the John Wilkes, son and Mapplebeck's premises.
The view from the north western end (there being a c130 degree bend half way along) is similarly industrial, all the houses and carter's yards mentioned in the 1911 census are long gone. Still there though is the never completed 1846 viaduct built to take the Birmingham and Oxford Railway to Curzon Street Station, the line being completed by the Great Western Railway to Moor Street and via a tunnel to Snow Hill stations.

It can seem a small world sometimes can't it!
I am not 100% sure but from what I can make out my ancestors former home & place of work disappeared & the Liverpool Street bus depot was built upon the land. I wonder whether the bus company might have some archive material? It would be great if some "before & after" photos existed of the bus depot area. I keep searching but so far I have found no old pictures of Liverpool Street.
