List of local history societies

BordesleyExile

The following is a fairly good list of local history societies in surrounding areas, though BHF is not on it:
https://www.bdlha.freeola.com/societies/societies.htm
The following has some photos:

The following looks to have some interesting photos, but the thumbnails remain tiny, which is a great pity. Sadly there was not a contact email address so I was unable to report the problem.

This site has good pics for people interested in Aldridge:

Thanks for that - very useful.

As far as Aldridge LHS is concerned, the website at least seems moribund, not having been updated in nearly four years. I don't know if the Society is in the same state. I certainly have never been able to get a squeak out of them.

With Handsworth, isn't there an email address at the foot of the Home page? Pretty small, admittedly!

I believe a Group has started in Streetly. No website but they have a presence here: https://www.streetly.org/34.html

Chris,
Thanks for your help and advice.
I'm starting to get a hang of it.

Hi, Bordesley Exile: I have just glanced at your posted list of Historical Societies. Although you say that BHF is not on it, I am confused by the fact that there is a "Heartlands Historical Society" listed...

On the list it is qouted as being under the honarary secretaryship of a Miss Pat Capewell, and "meetings are held at Nechells Creen Community Centre, 4th Wednesdays of every month"

When I clicked on to the quoted email address, up came the reference to our own Eric Hill at Blue Yonder...!

So, can somebody "unconfuse" me?

Regards,

Jim Pedley (pedlarman)

Thanks, John: I'm a comparatively new member and it was Bordesley Exile's posted initials - BHF - and his mention of a Pat Capewell that put a question mark above my head.
Thanks again for the info.
Cheers,
Jim Pedley (pedlarman)
