Lees St & Leek St

Terry Vincent

Brummie babby
I have relatives living in both of these streets but handwriting makes it difficult to work out which is which, can anyone help me figure out where each street is in Brum? [sorry I'm new to the forum so hope I'm doing this correctly]

Hope these are helpful. Maps of area surrounding the two streets with streets in red. Lees st is still there and visible on Google maps. Looking at Google maps, Leek st is approximately where Birmingham Metropolitan college is

Pre-demolition problems with rehousing for this resident of Lees Street. Must have been frightening. She'd been trying to get rehoused for 11 years, and understandably wanted to be near her family.

Did not know Lees Street, but a map showing the position is below. These are two photos, artificially coloured unfortunately. which are said to be Lees Street. The second one, with people looking out, I can accept as being looking up towards Devonshire Street. However the other is certainly not looking the same way, so must be looking in the other direction. However niether the 1880 or 1950 map shows a building protruding from the rest of the row (which should show at that scale), and not map I can find has houses opposite the entrance at that end. This puts the identity of both (which were posted together on facebook), in doubt, though the first is probably ok
